Artist Judith Jones Begins Knitting The World's Largest Pair Of Mittens In
An Ongoing Performance Art Piece at the Jeffrey Meier Gallery
Starting Saturday, January 18th master knitter Judith Jones will begin knitting a pair of mittens fit for a giant. For the next six weeks she'll be hand crafting a 5-foot tall pair of blue wool cable knit mittens. Live knitting will take place in the gallery window every Saturday and Sunday from January 18th through March 1st, from 11am-2pm. "At the heart of every great artist is a craftsman." said Jeffrey. "In light of record-breaking cold temperatures, Judith and I decided to turn desperation into inspiration." A celebration of the completion of the mittens will take place at the gallery on Saturday, March 1st from 6-8pm.
